immersive reader in the new edge

Mr. Ed

Hi,

I opened a website and click on the reader. But nothing happened that I could tell. Is there something I have to do after I click on the reader button? Do I have to mute Jaws or do something to start the reader to read.

I must be missing something as I have not been able to get it to read. Any help or steps on this would be appreciated.

Mr. Ed

This is a serious request for everyone asking questions related to new Edge, please include the version number that you are running.  You can get that using ALT+F,B,M to open settings to the About page and searching for Version.

There are just too many possibilities, with some using the stable build of new Edge with others using Beta, Dev, or even Canary.  Though many answers will be the same for all of those, some will not, so it's vital to have the actual new Edge version you are using so that accurate answers can be supplied.

That shouldn’t make a difference, but if Ed is asking or wanting the Read Aloud feature then yes, after you invoke Immersive Reader mode you also have to manually start Read Aloud.

If you just invoke Immersive Reader you can still go ahead and read the page or article with Jaws and you will find that all the clutter is gone and only the article you want to read is there.

Well, I'm going on a conversation I know I've read over the last several days where the F9 key was discussed, seemingly all under new Edge, and its having been removed.

In any case, and outside of this, I stand by my request.   Endless parades of "I'm on the latest . . .," have proven to be false on way more than one occasion when actual version numbers were requested and provided.  Actual version (and build, in the case of Windows 10) numbers for all software involved in a question really helps those who wish to provide an accurate answer.  There are times when this is less necessary than others, but better more info not needed than a lack.
