Hi,
I Am using the Microsoft 4000 curved keyboard, this is wired. If you are a touchtypist, it has the gap in the middle to space your hands out. If you have not used one before, it can take a bit of getting used to but if you stick with it, you will not go back in my opinion. The touch is quite nice and it has a lot of extra keys for volume, web search etc etc and I am sure you can programme some of the keys but I have never bothered to try. The right windows key is next to the lefthand ctrl key which is a little different but again, it is surprising how you get used to it.

Personally, I would encourage you to visit your local retailers and get your hands on the keyboards that are on display if that's available in your area. A good keyboard is so subjective as everyone has different taste on tactile feel and keyboard functions. If you're a screen reader user, it may be essential that the keyboard has an application key.

- This cannot be stressed enough. There is absolutely no "one size fits all best" when it comes to a keyboard. Your advice to go to local brick and mortar outlets to try a few out is excellent. Sometimes, even if you can only narrow it down to a couple of manufacturers, but not models that are in-store, that's a start. --

I have a corsair k67 keyboard. It is not wired per-say but I love it. I have the wire part hooked up to my mac, the wireless part hooked up to my windows machine and the bluetooth part hooked into my phone. I use it for gaming as well as my job. It is a mechanical keyboard that for me feels good to type on.

I am always searching for the “right” keyboard, if such exists for me. Does
this one have the applications key or the Windows key to the right of the space
bar? Or even better if it has both.
Thanks, Marie

No, I hit a button on the keyboard and I can switch between the 3 devices. well actually 2 buttons, but still, the switching per-say is done on the keyboard side of things. I type very hard so for me I love this keyboard, and the key caps can be removed in case I get cookies in there, or what not.

Sarah k Alawami
I cannot, each keyboard model will be different. however for example I can use fn f10 to go from usb to wifi, or usb to bt (bluetooth) and fn f9 to go to the wifi device i have attached and same key to go back to usb. ON the mac I can use option plus volume down to get into my volume prefs. this would be option fn f12 on the mac laptop.
If you want a true wired keyboard I'm sure corseir sells a truly wired model of same, I hope?

Hi,
I Am using the Microsoft 4000 curved keyboard, this is wired.

Sarah, Thanks, so the keyboard switch is actually a function of that keyboard. Good to know and will look at my newer keyboards to see if they have that feature. Rick

ON the mac I can use option plus volume down to get into my volume prefs. this would be option fn f12 on the mac laptop. If you want a true wired keyboard I'm sure corseir sells a truly wired model of same, I hope? -- Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . For more info go to our website. Sarah, I forgot if you have sight but if you do, can you tell me if there are written instructions on how to use the ICue software so I can map out colors on the keyboard? I have the K60 SE Pro which is a nice enough KB though a bit louder than I was hoping, but it seems all their instructions are videos which I don’t follow very well. Thanks, BP

I don't have sight. I used aira to make sure the light was off and to know the other buttons as well. I don't use their mapping software, don't need it. All the stuff I do is on mac os, windows I dont' use software, the keyboard just works.

search for corsair k60 or corsair and you should be fine. then read the description of the switches. I bought mine at best buy, but amazon has it and other stores. Be prepared to spend about 120 dollars on it though.

Sarah, Yes the KB works fine without the software, it’s only for the backlighting which can be changed to an array of colors for those who have sight to appreciate it. what I’m miffed at is their instructions are all video and as such I can’t follow it so well having low vision. Without magnification I can’t tell what the person doing the video is up to, but with mag on the picture is too big to make sense of it, kind of like some people can’t read jumbo braille because it’s too large for them to read with normal touch. So far have not found step-bys to grasp instructions the way I usually grasp them, simple steps to let me navigate through and then I grasp the principle. BP

Sarah, The Corsair K60 runs about $79.95. not sure what your K67 runs though I think it’s replaced by the K68 now. I will say they seem to make good quality KB’s but truthfully I wish I could find one that is not “clicky”, but rather, one that has a bassier and perhaps quieter sound which will not annoy me while my hearing aids are in. Try the cherry blue switches. I think those are the quiet ones. Mine does not clicky clicky. You will love that keyboard and rist rest.
