Microsoft Tech Community: support for legacy Edge to sunset on March 9, 2021 #chromiumedge

Hi all,

At this point, the following announcement can be considered just a milestone announcement, but do take note:

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-365-blog/microsoft-365-apps-say-farewell-to-internet-explorer-11-and/ba-p/1591666?ranMID=43674&ranEAID=je6NUbpObpQ&ranSiteID=je6NUbpObpQ-uRHjQgdEhQE5Q8FVW2cWNg&epi=je6NUbpObpQ-uRHjQgdEhQE5Q8FVW2cWNg&irgwc=1&OCID=AID2000142_aff_7795_1243925&tduid=(ir__l0skpdrgm2rcfxbmlztvvhc1m22xisyljho2x3va00)(7795)(1243925)(je6NUbpObpQ-uRHjQgdEhQE5Q8FVW2cWNg)()&irclickid=_l0skpdrgm2rcfxbmlztvvhc1m22xisyljho2x3va00

In short, if you are using legacy Edge, you won’t get security updates after March 9, 2021. There are other announcements, but they concern Microsoft 365 customers using what is now ancient Internet Explorer 11.

So what about this forum cluster: although discussion on legacy Edge will continue, effective the week after Windows 10 Version 20H2 shows up, discussion about Edge should be limited to upgrading to Chromium Edge and nothing else.

Cheers,

Jsoeph
