Hi,

Oned thing that was fixed.  Jaws no longer fades in and out when trying to navigate or typing quickly.  Perhaps audio ducking had something to do with that bug.  Also, for thoughes who use the mail app, virtual pc in messages now works as it should.

Hi everyone,

If you are using today’s JAWS 18 release (build 2738) and if using Creators Update, please read the following important information:

As part of today’s JAWS 18 update, VFO has disabled audio ducking feature in JAWS 18 due to issues reported by people running Windows 10 Creators Update. There is an important caveat, however:

  1. After installing JAWS 18.0.2738 and using Creators Update, press JAWS Key+SPACE.
  2. Press D for “audio ducking”.

Expected: JAWS should inform you that audio ducking is disabled if you are using Creators Update.

Actual: toggle messages are announced.

Advisory: don’t use this key combination until VFO comes up with a fix; this issue was reported to VFO today.

If you are using other screen readers or JAWS versions earlier than 18 (that is, 16 or 17), or are using Windows 10 releases prior to Creators Update, you can ignore this advisory.

Cheers,

Joseph
