Hi all, Other important things to note:
Until the official release ID and the feature upgrade build is revealed, any Insider Preview build discussion for Creators Update should be done via the insiders subgroup. I’ll let this thread be an exception – things that Kelly posts about Insider Preview builds and other news from Microsoft takes precedence over everyone else’s (including mine), as he works for Microsoft and to respect his expertise and position.
P.S. This will be archived under #InsiderBuilds and #WinTenCreatorsUpdate hashtags.
Cheers, Joseph

Looks like there are a few keyboard shortcut changes in this release: The WIN + H hotkey, used in the old Windows share experience, has been removed. "Keyboard shortcut change for invoking Cortana: The keyboard shortcut to invoke Cortana in listening mode is changing to WIN + C. This shortcut will be off by default. If you’d like to use it now, head to Cortana’s settings and you’ll find a new option to enable it. WIN + Shift + C will be used to open the App Charms menu, seen in the title bar of Windows 8 apps." Also under known bugs in this release: - Using CTRL + C to copy in Command Prompt won’t work. - 3rd party UWP apps would crash on devices if the DPI settings on the machine are >=150% - When using Microsoft Edge with Narrator, you may hear “no item in view” or silence while tabbing or using other navigation commands. You can use Alt + Tab when this happens to move focus away from and back to the Edge browser. Narrator will then read as expected.

This looks good, however edge does not work with nvda master snapshots. Just gives a piano error sound over and over and over. Havent tried to with narrator yet.

As an aside, does anyone know if https://aka.ms/awesomeness always points to the current release notes? Or is this a special case. Timothy

Does anyone know how the ability to launch narrator from a Win PE
environment works? Is it using some kind of generic sound driver
to do this?

Hi, Once WinPE starts, wait 15 to 20 seconds (or more), then press Control+Windows+ENTER. As stated before, this will make its debut as part of Creators Update. Cheers, Joseph

However, do you know how it works exactly? I thought sound drivers weren't loaded at that stage.

Not all sound cards will be detected. The release notes for build 15002 recommends using USB headsets for this task. Cheers, Joseph

if one considers that uefi is almost like a mini os then yes sound drivers could be coaxed into copoerating. especially as eufi has access to more resources than did the lagacy BIOS.
