Anniversary Update: Narrator User Guide now available #msftenable #narrator

Hi everyone,

For Kelly: thanks for your continued advocacy for users with disabilities at MS.

As noted by Kelly Ford and others at a recent Main Menu (ACB Radio) podcast, the user guide for Narrator, optimized for Anniversary Update is now available:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/22798/windows-10-narrator-get-started

If you have questions about documentation, please let Microsoft know (especially Kelly Ford, a senior program manager at MS and a member of this forum).

Cheers,

Joseph

Thanks for posting.  Other than the new more responsive voice and Scan mode, I haven’t noticed any major improvements so will definitely check it out.

Using Getting Started with Narrator, I tried launching Facebook and browsing using those Scan mode hotkeys.  At least for reading FB posts, this thing is absolutely useless.

Example, using up and down arrow for reading by line, results in only reading mis. Controls such as buttons, edit boxes, etc.  The body of a post is never voiced.

Also, ‘p’ and Shift-P for jumping by paragraph only results in Narrator responding with Not on Explorable text regardless where your cursor is on the screen.

For me, I’ll stick with NVDA.
