I am extremely frustrated with the very stupid Windows updates because Microsoft doesn't seem to give a damn about screwing up people's computers
Another option would be to install Windows 10 afresh from a USB drive with an installer from the Windows Media Creation Tool. It’s fully accessible with Microsoft Narrator. Then reinstall your applica

Having a computer with the OS on SSD and second/third hard drive as a regular hard drive??
An NVME SSD is best for performance. One of my laptops has it, and I definitely notice the performance improvement. Many of the less capable SSDs still use an old-style SATA interface.
