Ethernet over AC power lines is also a convenient solution to some problems :-)

It's some kind of html one. To close it I've to press ctrl F4. Then if I go back into the inbox I can access the email as before - enter, read with arrows, press escape to close it. Has there been a recent change to Outlook, or have I inadvertently changed the settings? Thanks. Gordon McFarlane

Running the troubleshooter now results in a pending update to 20H2; which I will soon install. Hopefully, that’ll fix it!

It does sound like there is some sort of update pending or has failed, there may be a retry button there on one of the updates.

I have tried both “restart” and “update and restart” many times to no avail. I have not tried a different screen reader since the problem seems a Windows not a screen reader thing.

Brian,
I recently tried updating from 1909 to build 20h2 but had the same problem that I did last summer when trying to update to 2004 – couldn’t access start menu or Action Center, and likely other issues I had not yet found. I’m kind of leery about trying again to update to 20h2 but won’t know if I have this same experience unless I do the update but wonder if there is anything after the update that could fix this problem once and for all? the update itself that I recently tried went smoothly, no problems detected, but something in that update has caused the above problem. Is there anything I can do with the update process to keep the start menu & Action Centers functioning?
Thanks,
BP

It can also depend on your ISP/whatever those people are who provide your Internet. Down here where I live in Missouri, we use Centurylink—not the best as it’s pretty spotty.

No clue. I always just use the portable installer though. Don’t know if that makes any difference. I had to reactivate since it was a separate portable installation etc. Otherwise, no problems.

Re: Chicken Nugget (accessible twitter client) 4.71 released
I just had an interesting bout with fixing up my wife’s Chicken Nugget after she attempted update to 4.71. when she thought she updated, I think it was her “mentions” (or could have been timeline) didn’t show up. After I sent searching for an actual copy of 4.71, I attempted to download it so that I could attempt a repair by installing over it, but her W7 machine said download was blocked as it “might harm the machine.” A dialog appeared asking if I still wanted to download anyway, clicked yes, but download didn’t occur. I don’t use CN so am totally unfamiliar with it, just don’t have the time to play with some of these apps. Any ideas what could be causing the issues?

Re: Keyboard
Sarah,
The Corsair K60 runs about $79.95. not sure what your K67 runs though I think it’s replaced by the K68 now.
I will say they seem to make good quality KB’s but truthfully I wish I could find one that is not “clicky”, but rather, one that has a bassier and perhaps quieter sound which will not annoy me while my hearing aids are in.

Re: Keyboard
Sarah,
Yes the KB works fine without the software, it’s only for the backlighting which can be changed to an array of colors for those who have sight to appreciate it. what I’m miffed at is their instructions are all video and as such I can’t follow it so well having low vision. Without magnification I can’t tell what the person doing the video is up to, but with mag on the picture is too big to make sense of it, kind of like some people can’t read jumbo braille because it’s too large for them to read with normal touch. So far have not found step-bys to grasp instructions the way I usually grasp them, simple steps to let me navigate through and then I grasp the principle.

Good Day: If you have enough antennas or extenders to cover the area you might have a good enough of a wifi to work with. However, about a year ago I was in a bind. I didn't have enough internet signal from my router to the computer and was forced to connect by cable to the router to get the job done. So, it depends on how close you are to the router and how many walls, and what type of walls. This can depend if you are trying to go from the first story to the second story. Dave

Hi. Just for the sake of interest, is this a bug or is it just that Cortana is programmed to work this way? Seems like a roundabout way to me, just to end a process you might not need or might have just accidentally triggered. If it is programmed to work this way, then the people in charge should have a rethink because I cannot imagine the trouble it would cause if more apps must be terminated in such a nonsensical way.
