Hi, Madison. All you do to reproduce the problem is to call Freedom Scientific. After they're on the phone with you, Open Outlook, and read your addresses until the problem occurs, or open Edge Favorites, and arrow through them, until JAWS acts up again. This will help them to narrow down the cause of the problem, so they can fix the problem in a future update of JAWS.

Hi all, I'm working with Freedom Scientific to try and fix my Jaws issue (Jaws stopping speaking after reading a few Outlook addresses/contacts and Edge favourites), but they want to know the steps that I'd take to reproduce the problem, how on Earth do you reproduce a problem? Please help, as I've never had to do this before. Also, as a side-note, if you've not done so already if you're experiencing this same issue please report it to Freedom Scientific, well they're hopefully going to be able to fix it for me, I don't just want it fixed for me, I want it included in the next update so that everyone who's having this issue can get it fixed. Thank you, Madison

Sarah, Thanks, so the keyboard switch is actually a function of that keyboard. Good to know and will look at my newer keyboards to see if they have that feature. Rick

Hi,
I Am using the Microsoft 4000 curved keyboard, this is wired. If you are a touchtypist, it has the gap in the middle to space your hands out. If you have not used one before, it can take a bit of getting used to but if you stick with it, you will not go back in my opinion. The touch is quite nice and it has a lot of extra keys for volume, web search etc etc and I am sure you can programme some of the keys but I have never bothered to try. The right windows key is next to the lefthand ctrl key which is a little different but again, it is surprising how you get used to it.

I am always searching for the “right” keyboard, if such exists for me. Does
this one have the applications key or the Windows key to the right of the space
bar? Or even better if it has both.
Thanks, Marie

Hi,
I Am using the Microsoft 4000 curved keyboard, this is wired.

Re: How do I get out of the Cortana screen?
Bill White <billwhite92701@...>
Hi, Ashleigh. To Terminate Cortana 1. Open Windows Settings with Windows key plus I. 2. TAB to the list of Settings categories. 3. Right Arrow to Apps, and press ENTER. 4. TAB about nine times to the list of apps. 5. Arrow down to Cortana, and press ENTER. 6. TAB to Advanced Options, and press ENTER. 7. TAB to the Terminate button, and press ENTER. 8. Close Settings. That's it. Cortana's window won't appear again until the next time you use the app. Bill White billwhite92701@...

Personally, I would encourage you to visit your local retailers and get your hands on the keyboards that are on display if that's available in your area. A good keyboard is so subjective as everyone has different taste on tactile feel and keyboard functions. If you're a screen reader user, it may be essential that the keyboard has an application key.

Re: How do I get out of the Cortana screen?
Hi, Cortana is a floating window, therefore you can’t simply let go of her by pressing Alt+F4. You must tell her to go by going to either: - Task Manager, then Details tab and looking for cortana.exe and ending it.
- Settings (Windows+I)/Apps/Apps and features, select Cortana from the list of apps, go to Advanced options and choose Terminate.
This applies to Cortana second generation (Version 2004), which some of you should have encountered in one way or another by now. Cheers, Joseph
