Re: Is anyone having a edge and forms mode problem?

I have not experienced this and I use Edge now as my default browser exclusively at home and at my office. You may want to call Microsoft Accessibility and see if they can help.
Does this happen on all websites or just on some?

Hi to all.
Both myself and my close friend Tom Klaus and myself are in a role playing game.
I've noticed lately that when using edge and jaws that the forms mode doesn't stay on and you need to double check that forms mode stays on before typing in a speed and or use any of the features within the game.
I've also notice when typing in a field and or password for a web page as well that forms mode doesn't stay on.
Any thought on this?
Many Thanks.

booting off of usb thumb drive for win 10 install.

Hello all.

So, in my gigabyte ga-h77md3h bios, when setting up my boot order, to boot of usb drive first, do I need to set it up in both boot order, and hard drive dds options?

Also, when I did a fresh install, the other day, it booted up fine, let me reformat drive, but when it restarted the first time, after it said copying set up files, and then the updates, when it rebooted, it kept looping back to the usb thumb drive, wanting me to redue the steps again, so what I did was when it rebooted  the first time, I took out the drive, and it installed fine, I am assuming from the HD?

Is this normal?

tw blue help

Darren Harris

Hi all,

I’m having real issues with tw blue.

Running the latest win 10. Whenever I try running it it keeps saying that the programme unexpectedly quit last time. If it persists then please contact the developers. This has been going on for about a week now. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, I’ve run c cleaner to clear any nasties out of the system including registry cleans. I’ve also tried running the application as an administrator. Nothing seems to work.

Can anybody please help?

I’ve tried looking for a contact address for the developers but I can’t seem to find anything on the site. Obviously twitter is out of the question.

If anybody could help me here either with a solution or with an alternative app then I’d be greatful.

He didn't want to have to just wipe the whole thing clean and start over, unless he talked to me first, so he went to Microsoft twice. Microsoft told him twice what to do to write things in and all of that, what files to delete to write in and what to take off and so on, and still no go. It still didn't work. I guess what we've decided to do is to wipe the drive clean, buy me the Windows 10 disk and start all over again. Luckily, I'd taken all off that laptop that I wanted. He said that because my laptop had been a refurbished laptop to begin with, and I'd gotten it in 2014, not knowing how old it was to begin with, it is highly possible that the CPU might not be able to handle the 1909 update. It might be the culprit. But he believes there is a program on there blocking updates and it's called "Save Updates", and the way it seems to work is that once it sees an update and if it has updated it and thinks things are updated, it won't try and update again. I don't even know what that came with or where it came from. I don't remember installing a program like that. This laptop has been a very good computer.

Anyway, folks, that's what is happening now. It was not in Tablet mode, but in the process of trying to update itself, things got turned off in the icons that shouldn't have, and that's why setting were messed up, too.

So, I'll let you know what happens in a day or two.

If you want to try the new Microsoft Edge, click on this link and then find the “Get stable build for Windows 10" Button, go to the very end of the screen and click the “Link‑ Accept terms and download Microsoft Edge” link.

After the installer downloads, run the installer and Edge version 80.0.361.50 (Official build) (64-bit) Will be installed.

I suggest you go with the “Focused” scheme which is one of the things you can choose after the install has completed.

Insert + F5 refreshes the virtual version of the page's contents, and, insert + F6 does nothing as far as I am aware.

For confirmation, try turning on input help mode, while in the body of a web page - NVDA key + number row 1, and, then hit those keystrokes, and, it will tell you what they are meant to be performing?

Stay well

Hi Kevin,

NVDA+F7 should bring up the elements list, provided NVDA is in browse mode (it won't while typing text into a form, for instance) - and it does that for me on both Chrome and Firefox.

NVDA+F4 and NVDA+F6 aren't standard NVDA commands - are you thinking of Jaws which I think brings up different parts of it's elements list with those commands?  Or had you remapped other commands to those keys?

Kind regards

Quentin.

What add-ons are you using?  Maybe there is an add-on which provides that functionality?  If it is one which hasn't been updated for NVDA 2019.3 (or which you need to download the update manually) that would explain why it's not working for you now if it used to.

Hi,

Nope – those function keys are JAWS commands, not NVDA.

Cheers,

Joseph

I believe FFF5 is suppose to bring up forms field, and F6 headings as well as F7 for links the insert key is my NVDA modifier key.  It worked in previous versions

Also the announcement of copy, paste and cut does not announce after the update because my clip speak add on isn’t compatible any more

Quentin.

Hi all,

A bit late: NVDA 2019.3/2019.3.1 is now available:

https://www.nvaccess.org/post/nvda-2019-3-released/

Note that this is a huge release. If you are using Microsoft Edge 79 or later, please use this version.

Cheers,

Joseph

Well, that's the million denar question is it not? I believe it started for me sometime in January or early December, but I dunno if it was one of those updates and I'm not about to role back to troubleshoot, as this happens when it wants to.

For me, when I have the issue, the vertual stickyness will swipe across to all of my keyboards that are attached, and my built in keyboard for the laptop. It is starting to drive me nuts. It only semes to happen mostly when the computer is busy, but I don't want to reboot during a twitch stream.

Yes, I am having trouble with my left and right ctrl key using the new Zoomtext 2020. If I press just the left ctrl or right ctrl it does not work. But if I press both of them then it workds fine every time. It just does not work correctly on one of my pc but workds fine on the other one using the same keyboard. I also use Jaws 2020 latest.

I am with my control key as well. It's my left one at times, but most other times it's my right. I can tell when I launch narrator and I hear not a command when trying to hit nvda space as the control key is software stuck, not hardware stuck. So, is there a fix?

Hello all.

Well, I think I figured out this keyboard issue.

So, when the keyboards goes funky, when I press the two control keys at the same time, the keyboard returns to normal.

I did some research on this, and this sounds like an issue with in win 10 itsself.

Has anyone had this issue?
