Not sure if Jaws 2018 supports turning this off, it might only be possible
in Jaws 2019 and Jaws 2020.

Hit insert+nnumber 6 together.
type spell and let the field populate.
arrow down to detect spell while navagation Hit your space bar until you
hear Jaws say off.
I don't remember how you save it but you may have to tab to apply or OK and
then tab to OK and hit OK again.
